Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Software Engineer, DevSecOps Engineering I for the Aguadilla, PR site. The role focuses on supporting data engineering, CI/CD, and secure software delivery across hybrid work arrangements, with 3 onsite and 2 remote days per schedule.

You will help implement containerization using Docker and Kubernetes, develop automation scripts, and contribute to Infrastructure-as-Code practices while promoting secure data handling throughout the SDLC.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) is typically required.
• Strong communication in English (verbal and written).
• U.S. citizenship is required for access to program/contract information.

As a Software Engineer, DevSecOps Engineering I you will support core data engineering and DevSecOps efforts by assisting in the development of data ingestion pipelines, automation workflows, and CI/CD processes. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, the position helps build and maintain database structures, develop scripts for data processing and integration, and contribute to Infrastructure‑as‑Code practices to ensure consistent environments. The role also supports containerization using Docker and Kubernetes, evaluates DevSecOps tools, and assists in modernizing legacy workflows while promoting secure data handling throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

What YOU will do:

• Support development of CI/CD pipelines that automate build, test, and deployment workflows.
• Research and evaluate DevSecOps tools for automation, containerization, and software delivery improvement.
• Integrate scripts, small applications, and tools into existing pipelines to enhance flow.

Qualifications you must have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
• Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience in software development with secure coding practices.
• Experience with automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development environments.
• Knowledge of software security principles, risk mitigation, and vulnerability management.
• Linux, scripting (Python, Perl, Shell).
• Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS Cloud.
• Experience in cryptographic system design and implementation.
• Exposure to system engineering principles and full software lifecycle execution.
• Experience with Git, Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, Coverity.
