Job summary

CredLens, a nonprofit national data trust, seeks an Associate Client Data Engineer to join a small Data Engineering team in Washington, DC. This early‑career role focuses on onboarding client data, understanding data structures, and cleaning/validating data for the pipeline.

You will learn the platform with support from senior engineers and contribute to scalable onboarding practices. Hybrid role requiring in-person at the office at least two days a week (Tuesdays/Thursdays).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, IS, data science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of relevant exposure through internships, projects, or coursework.

Responsibilities

• Serve as data engineering onboarding point for new clients and guide data formats.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to understand data structure, quality, and completeness.
• Identify and resolve missing or inconsistent fields with clients.
• Clean, transform, and validate data to CredLens standards for downstream ingestion.
• Build and run data transformations using SQL and Python.
• Document onboarding steps, data sources, decisions, and exceptions.
• Track onboarding progress and identify friction to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to improve onboarding pipeline scalability.
