Job summary

Serverfarm, a leading data center developer and operator, is seeking an on-site Data Center Technician at our Houston facility. You will ensure safe operation of MEP infrastructure and monitor critical space conditions to support 24/7 uptime.

You will perform routine maintenance, assist with planning, and coordinate with contractors while following SF safety and change control policies. This role offers growth as we expand our global operations and continue to lead in sustainable data centers.

Qualifications

• 1 year of data center experience delivering customer requirements in a critical technology environment.
• Self-management and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain MEP plant and distribution infrastructure safely and per manufacturers recommendations.
• Monitor power and environmental conditions in critical spaces.
• Perform maintenance tasks per SF practices using the internal CMMS.
• Assist with planning and scheduling corrective maintenance activities.
• Escort and support outside contractors, ensuring compliance with SF rules.
• Respond to site incidents and document actions to resolve or mitigate issues.

Key Accountabilities

• Ensure that all MEP plant and distribution infrastructure is operated and maintained in a safe manner, to best industry practice and within manufacturers recommendations.
• Monitor power and environmental conditions within all critical spaces within the facility.
• Perform assigned maintenance tasks in accordance with SF practices utilizing the internal CMMS.
• Assist with planning and scheduling corrective maintenance activities
• Escort and support outside contractors, ensuring they are abiding SF work rules and processes
• Respond to site incidents, execute appropriate MOP/EOP documentation to resolve and/or mitigate issues and communicate to manage throughout event.
• Support and follow all SF Change Control policies and procedures.
• Perform site rounds and report any issues found to site management.
• Participate in construction and commissioning activities as directed by site management
• Adhere to all local, state and federal safety laws and requirements
• Complete other duties as assigned by the management team
• Participate in and support MOP/SOP/EOP documentation process for site.
• Participate in and support the development of site policies and standards
• Work with site team members to deliver 100% uptime of critical infrastructure

Required Skills

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent AND preferably 1 year experience working in a Data Center with proven success in delivering customer requirements in a critical technology environment
• Evidence of self-management and alignment with ever-changing priorities
• Good written and oral communication skills, tenacity, and working to a high level of accuracy
