We’re looking for a Junior Data Analyst to support the creation of interactive, user-friendly data reports that make information accessible to students, families, and staff. This is an entry-level, remote role with a flexible schedule, comprehensive healthcare benefits, and mentorship support for your career growth.
With guidance and support, you will:
Build reports and visualizations that make education data accessible for students, parents, and staff
Develop and maintain data ingestion, cleaning, and transformation processes
Write and troubleshoot SQL queries to prepare datasets for analysis
Identify patterns and errors in large datasets and help design solutions
Collaborate with team members to translate real-world school needs into technical solutions
Document new and existing processes
Experience writing SQL queries without the use of a visual query builder (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle)
Ability to analyze large datasets to identify issues or trends
Ability to translate real-world business rules into SQL queries and data visualizations
Attention to detail, with a focus on data accuracy
Comfortable collaborating to define and solve problems based on user needs
Basic ability to identify the root cause of data issues and suggest improvements
Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git)
Strong written communication skills, including documentation
Coursework or projects in data analysis, statistics, or a related field
Knowledge of scripting languages like PHP, Python, Node.js, or R
Familiarity with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
Completion of relevant coursework (e.g., computer science, data analysis, statistics, education technology) or 1+ years of related professional experience
