Job summary

Texas A&M University–Kingsville invites applications for a Security Analyst I to protect TAMUK information systems, networks and data from cyber threats. You will collaborate with the TAMU Cybersecurity team to identify vulnerabilities, monitor activity, and implement controls to prevent or mitigate incidents.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), basic networking knowledge, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience: Four months of related experience.
• Knowledge: Working knowledge of basic office applications.
• Understanding: Basic networking skills.
• Communication: Excellent written and spoken communication.
• Teamwork: Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with other teams/departments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain data security profiles to identify risks.
• Monitor security alerts and escalate incidents per procedures.
• Assist in risk assessments, documentation, and incident response.
• Document security incidents, investigations, and remediation activities.
• Support vulnerability management, including review of scan results.
