Job summary

Node is seeking a Cyber Shift Incident Manager (Junior) to support a U.S. Government customer on-site in Arlington, VA. The role focuses on incident response, containment, and coordination across teams during assigned shifts (Shift 2, M-F 1400-2200) with an active Top Secret/SI clearance.

The candidate will investigate cyber incidents, triage severity, and develop mitigation plans to restore services. Strong knowledge of NIST/FISMA and NCCIC scoring is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of directly relevant experience in cyber incident management or cybersecurity operations.
• Knowledge of incident response and handling methodologies.
• Familiarity with NIST 800-62 (latest revision) and FISMA reporting requirements.
• Knowledge of NCCIC National Cyber Incident Scoring System for prioritizing triage.
• Understanding of common attack stages and vulnerability classifications.
• Awareness of system administration and OS hardening concepts.

Responsibilities

• Correlate incident data to identify trends in reported incidents.
• Recommend defense in depth principles and practices.
• Perform CND incident triage to determine scope, urgency, and impact.
• Research and compile known resolution steps to mitigate incidents.
• Apply cybersecurity concepts to detect and defend intrusions and analyze logs.
• Monitor external data sources to stay updated on CND threat conditions.
• Identify causal factors and gather background from external entities on infection vectors.
• Receive and analyze network alerts and determine possible causes.
• Track and document CND incidents from detection to resolution, coordinating with others.
