Job summary

OPSOURCE STAFFING INC. in Spartanburg, SC is seeking a motivated Junior Controls Electrical Designer to join our Panel Shop Division.

You will assist in designing electrical control systems for industrial automation, creating schematics, selecting components, and supporting panel build and commissioning. You will collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet UL 508A, NFPA 70, IEC standards, and you will gain hands-on experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or SolidWorks Electrical.
• Basic understanding of industrial control systems.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to learn and grow within a collaborative engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of electrical control systems, including schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams.
• Use CAD software to produce accurate and detailed drawings.
• Select and specify electrical components such as PLCs, HMIs, sensors, relays, and power supplies.
• Support the creation and maintenance of Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineers.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards (UL 508A, NFPA 70, IEC, etc.).
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback into revisions.
• Provide support during panel assembly, testing, and troubleshooting phases.
