Job summary

JGM, located in Downingtown, PA, seeks an early career professional (0–3 years) to join our estimating team. You will work in person, collaborating with senior estimators to build skills in structural steel, erection, equipment setting, and piping estimating.

You will grow into higher responsibility, mentoring teammates, and advancing toward leadership-level estimating roles as JGM expands. Training starts day one with real projects.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of experience in construction estimating, project engineering, or a related role.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil/structural engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant internship or co-op experience with a general contractor, industrial contractor, or similar is strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical, math, and organizational skills.
• Some ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and bid documents.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing detailed cost estimates for industrial construction projects, from concept through final proposal.
• Learn to analyze project documentation to identify scope, risks, and value engineering opportunities.
• Perform quantity take-offs and pricing for structural steel fabrication, erection, equipment setting, and piping.
• Support the solicitation, evaluation, and negotiation of subcontractor and vendor pricing across trades.
• Collaborate with project management, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure accurate scoping and budgeting.
• Help prepare comprehensive bid proposals and present estimates to leadership and clients.
