Job summary

The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) invites applications for a part-time Research Assistant in the Abrahamsson Lab to support computational chemistry projects at Mission Bay. You will set up quantum chemical and molecular dynamics calculations, develop machine learning models for chemical data, and process and visualize results with the team.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or at least four years of research experience, Python programming, and familiarity with quantum

Qualifications

• Recent graduate with a bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field, or at least four years of research experience.
• Coursework or experience in computational/physical chemistry.
• Programming experience, preferably Python.
• Familiarity with quantum chemistry software or MD packages is a plus but not required.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Set up, run, and analyze quantum chemical and molecular dynamics calculations
• Develop and apply machine learning models to chemical and spectrometric data
• Process, interpret, and visualize computational and experimental results
• Document methods and findings, and contribute to group discussions and meetings
