Job summary

Pockyt seeks a Junior Compliance Analyst in the United States to support high-volume compliance tasks across cross-border payments and merchant acquiring. You will chase documents, verify entity details, and assemble evidence packages, building meticulous case records for review.

This role offers hands-on learning in BSA/AML, with opportunities to influence automated workflows alongside the Compliance Manager and CCO.

Qualifications

  • 0–2 years in compliance, risk, KYC/onboarding, fraud operations, or a related role at a fintech, MSB, bank, or payments company — or a relevant internship plus strong interest in financial crimes
  • Exceptional attention to detail — you notice the mismatched date of birth, the expired document, and the missing page
  • Comfort with high-volume, repetitive work and the discipline to do it accurately every time
  • Strong organization — you can manage a queue, track deadlines, and keep a clean paper trail without being reminded
  • Clear, professional written communication with merchants and internal teams
  • AI fluency, or eagerness to build it — you're comfortable using Claude (or similar) for document review, summarization, and drafting
  • Curiosity about cross-border payments, stablecoins, and how compliance works in practice

Responsibilities

  • Onboarding file prep: Collect and chase merchant KYB/KYC documents, check applications for completeness, verify basic entity and UBO details against registries, and flag gaps before a file goes to review
  • Merchant acquiring support: Verify business model and MCC, review merchant websites for prohibited products and policies, check principals against MATCH and internal lists; elevate anything outside risk appetite with a clear summary
  • First-level screening: Run and clear obvious false-positive sanctions, PEP, and adverse media hits; document the rationale; elevate ambiguous items with a clean summary
  • L1 transaction monitoring triage: Work through ThetaRay alerts (in transition to a new tool), close clear-cut false positives per the playbook, route rest with history
  • Acquiring risk monitoring: Track merchant chargeback and fraud ratios against card network thresholds, flag merchants trending toward limits
  • RFI coordination: Draft and send routine RFIs to merchants, track responses and deadlines, log returns
  • Periodic review support: Pull refreshed documents, re-run screening, and assemble the review file for decision
  • Evidence and record-keeping: Maintain case logs, organize evidence in SharePoint, ready for banking partner/auditor
  • Data pulls and reporting: Pull metrics for weekly reviews, QA, and partner requests
  • Process notes: Maintain a running list of repetitive steps and test automation when shipped

Job description

Pockyt is building the AI-native infrastructure for global money movement. We give merchants a single platform to accept payments from anywhere, send money globally, and manage funds through Global Virtual Accounts and stablecoins — but our ambition runs deeper than the rails themselves. We're architecting the connective tissue that lets capital move across borders the way information moves across the internet: instantly, intelligently, and autonomously.

We serve a wide spectrum of merchants, from sophisticated enterprise platforms running complex multi-currency operations to the next generation of AI-powered startups, including the one-person unicorns we believe are about to reshape the global economy. Today, that means one integration, one account view, and one place to track everything. Tomorrow, it means a financial layer that AI agents can natively transact on — where money flows are orchestrated, optimized, and reconciled without human bottlenecks.

Our mission is to make global commerce frictionless. We're not building another payments platform. We're building the operating system for how value moves in an agentic, borderless economy.

The Role

We're hiring a Junior Compliance Analyst to keep the engine of our compliance function running. You'll own the high-volume, detail-heavy work that every good compliance program depends on across both our cross-border payments and merchant acquiring programs: chasing documents, checking files for completeness, clearing first-level screening hits, prepping evidence packages, and keeping case records clean and audit-ready. When something needs a judgment call, you'll assemble the facts and elevate it to the Compliance Manager or CCO with a clear summary — and you'll learn how those calls get made.

This is a great fit for someone early in their compliance career who is meticulous, likes a well-organized queue, and wants a fast, hands-on education in BSA/AML and merchant acquiring compliance at a cross-border payments company. Because we're actively automating our workflows with our Product Engineering team, you'll also be the person who knows exactly where the repetitive work lives — and your notes on it will shape what gets automated next.

What You'll Do
  • Onboarding file prep: Collect and chase merchant KYB/KYC documents, check applications for completeness, verify basic entity and UBO details against registries, and flag gaps before a file goes to review
  • Merchant acquiring support: Help underwrite new card-acquiring merchants by verifying business model and MCC, reviewing merchant websites for prohibited or restricted products and required policies (refunds, terms, privacy), and checking principals against MATCH and internal decline lists; elevate anything outside our risk appetite with a clear summary
  • First-level screening: Run and clear obvious false-positive sanctions, PEP, and adverse media hits; document the rationale; elevate anything ambiguous with a clean summary
  • L1 transaction monitoring triage: Work through ThetaRay alerts (in transition to a new tool), close out clear-cut false positives per the playbook, and route the rest up with the relevant transaction history pulled together
  • Acquiring risk monitoring: Track merchant chargeback and fraud ratios against card network thresholds, flag merchants trending toward program limits, and pull the transaction and dispute data the Compliance Manager needs to decide next steps
  • RFI coordination: Draft and send routine RFIs to merchants, track responses and deadlines, follow up on overdue items, and log what comes back
  • Periodic review support: Pull refreshed documents, re-run screening, and assemble the review file so the Compliance Manager can make the call
  • Evidence and record-keeping: Maintain case logs, organize evidence packages in SharePoint, and keep trackers accurate so any file can be handed to a banking partner or examiner on short notice
  • Data pulls and reporting: Pull alert, case, onboarding, and chargeback metrics for weekly reviews, quarterly QA, and banking- and acquiring-partner requests
  • Process notes: Keep a running list of repetitive steps and friction points, and help test AI-assisted and automated versions of your workflows once they ship
What We're Looking For
  • 0–2 years in compliance, risk, KYC/onboarding, fraud operations, or a related role at a fintech, MSB, bank, or payments company — or a relevant internship plus strong interest in financial crimes
  • Good judgment about when to elevate, and the ability to summarize a case clearly and briefly
  • Clear, professional written communication with merchants and internal teams
  • AI fluency, or eagerness to build it — you're comfortable using Claude (or similar) for document review, summarization, and drafting
  • Curiosity about cross-border payments, stablecoins, and how compliance works in practice
Bonus Points
  • CAMS (or working toward it), ACAMS membership, or comparable training
  • Exposure to sanctions screening or transaction monitoring tools (ThetaRay, Hummingbird, Unit21, ComplyAdvantage, or similar)
  • Experience with KYB document review for business entities, especially cross-border or multi-entity structures
  • Exposure to merchant underwriting, card acquiring, or payment facilitator (PayFac) onboarding, including familiarity with Visa/Mastercard network rules, MCCs, MATCH, or chargeback/fraud monitoring programs such as Visa VAMP or Mastercard ECM/EFM
  • Mandarin, Spanish, or Portuguese language skills (helpful for LATAM/APAC merchant documents)
  • Strong spreadsheet skills for tracking and data pulls
How You'll Work
  • Rhythm: Work the daily queue → clear or elevate → document → keep trackers current; weekly case reviews with the team and CCO; regular check-ins with the Compliance Manager on elevations
  • Collaboration: Daily with onboarding and the Compliance Manager; regular contact with merchants on RFIs and document requests; occasional handoffs to product engineering on workflow fixes
  • Quality bar: Every file you touch is complete and organized; every cleared hit has a documented rationale; every elevation arrives with the facts already pulled together

Success looks like: a queue that stays current, onboarding files that reach review complete the first time, clean and consistent case records, fast RFI turnaround, early flags on merchants trending toward chargeback limits, and a growing ability to handle more of the decision-making yourself.

Why Pockyt
  • Learn compliance from the ground up at a fast-moving, AI-native fintech, working directly alongside the CCO and Compliance Manager
  • Real exposure to onboarding, merchant acquiring, sanctions, transaction monitoring, and banking-partner work from day one
  • A clear growth path to Compliance Analyst and Senior Compliance Analyst as your judgment and scope grow
  • Competitive compensation based on the market of the region your based in
  • Quarterly bonus pay-outs of up to 20% of your base salary
