Job summary

Kovitz Shifrin Nesbit, a leading Illinois law firm, seeks an Associate Attorney with 0–2 years of experience. The role will start in Lincolnshire for training and may be based in Chicago thereafter, with client contact and substantive matters across homeowner, condominium, and community associations.

Qualified candidates must be licensed in Illinois and have strong writing and analytical skills. Knowledge of Illinois condominium law is a plus.

Qualifications

• Licensed Illinois attorney in good standing.
• Strong writing and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of Illinois Condominium Property Act/Common Interest Act is a plus.
• Active bar status and ability to handle client matters with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal representation to homeowner, condominium, and community associations.
• Advise Boards of Directors on governance, contracts, and related issues.
• Maintain familiarity with governing documents and applicable statutes.
• Conduct legal research and apply findings to client matters.
• Draft, review, finalize, and record legal documents and correspondence.
• Attend client Board meetings and provide guidance as needed.
• Manage multiple matters, prioritize deadlines, and report to Partners/Boards.
• Participate in CLE programs and training.
