Job summary

Kovitz Shifrin Nesbit is expanding and seeks an Associate Attorney with 0–2 years of experience for our Boca Raton, FL office. This role offers direct client contact, involvement in substantive matters, and opportunities to grow within community association law.

The position begins in-office, with potential to transition to a hybrid schedule after 60–90 days. The starting salary is $97,500, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of legal experience preferred; recent law school graduates are welcome to apply.
• Active and valid Florida Bar license.
• Knowledge of the Florida Condominium Act and Florida Homeowners’ Association Act preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Commitment to producing high-quality work and providing excellent client service.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal representation to Condominium and Homeowner Associations on governance, operational, and owner-related matters.
• Advise Boards of Directors on governance, compliance, and interpretation of governing documents and statutes.
• Conduct legal research and analyze governing documents, statutes, regulations, and case law.
• Draft, review, finalize, and record legal documents, including opinion letters, demand letters, amendments, pleadings, motions, discovery, and filings.
• Prepare demand letters, foreclosure and covenant enforcement documents for collection and enforcement matters.
• Attend Board meetings, court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and other proceedings as needed.
• Oversee paralegals responsible for collection and foreclosure matters to ensure deadlines and requirements are met.
• Manage multiple matters with timely communication to Partners and clients.
• Assist with Florida landlord representation, including drafting pleadings and court appearances.
