IT8, an engineering partner with over twenty years of experience, seeks a Commissioning Technician to support testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of automated industrial systems. You will work with PLC-controlled equipment and collaboration with commissioning engineers to verify system functionality and startup readiness.

We welcome junior candidates with basic knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC systems and a drive to develop technical skills in industrial automation.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC systems and industrial automation.
• Electrical/electronic/mechatronic background preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to communicate in English and work in a project-based environment.

Responsabilités

The Commissioning Technician will support the testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of automated industrial systems to ensure equipment operates correctly, safely, and according to project specifications. This position involves working with PLC-controlled equipment, electrical components, and industrial automation systems. The technician will collaborate with commissioning engineers and programmers to verify system functionality, identify technical issues, and support equipment startup.

We welcome junior candidates with basic knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC systems who are interested in developing their technical skills and gaining hands‑on experience in industrial automation.

The tasks that the Commissioning Technician will develop are the following ones:

• Verify digital and analog inputs and outputs (I/O checks).
• Inspect and test sensors, actuators, valves, motors, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
• Check electrical wiring, control signals, grounding, and communication connections.
• Assist in diagnosing electrical and instrumentation faults.
• Support the loading, testing, and validation of PLC programs.
• Assist with adjusting equipment parameters, timing, and scaling.
• Perform functional testing to ensure equipment operates according to production requirements.
• Verify safety logic and interlocks following established safety procedures.
• Assist with signal testing under appropriate supervision and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with PLC programmers and commissioning engineers to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
• Verify HMI/SCADA screens, alarms, trends, local and remote commands, fault messages, and equipment statuses.

What will you need as a successful Commissioning Technician?

• Basic knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC systems and industrial automation.
• Technical education or training in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Electromechanical, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems, industrial controls, and troubleshooting.
• Previous experience with PLC programming, testing, or commissioning is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, project-based environment.
• Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required if not local to project location.
