Hatch is seeking a dynamic Junior Commissioning Engineer in Salt Lake City, UT. Reporting to the Business Practices Consulting group, you will support offices globally from our Salt Lake City office, defending practical, safe and sustainable commissioning solutions.

We value in-person collaboration and offer in-office work with approved remote flexibility. This is an entry-level role ideal for graduates who aspire to become commissioning managers and lead global projects over time.

Qualifications

• Recent or soon-to-be graduates with relevant skills and little or no professional experience.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical, computer, mechanical, chemical, or process engineering.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Responsibilities

• Support commissioning planning and setup activities.
• Provide technical input for testing and data collection during pre-commissioning and commissioning.
• Lead technology development initiatives in the group including investigating alternate and supporting commissioning software.
• Lead setup and implementation of the commissioning management system for global projects.
• Develop test plans and commissioning procedures.
• Coordinate with construction planning to align commissioning systems with work packages.

As The Successful Candidate, You Will

• Support commissioning planning and setup activities
• Provide technical input for testing and data collection during the pre-commissioning and commissioning phase of the project
• Lead technology development initiatives in the group including investigating of alternate and supporting commissioning software
• Lead setup and implementation of the commissioning management system and become a support resource for global projects on the corresponding software(s)
• Provide input to technology initiatives to improve the efficiency of the commissioning process and a different perspective on approaches to execution
• Develop test plans and commissioning procedures
• Participate in field testing and troubleshoot/optimize equipment that is not performing
• Manage the test results, data collection, progress measurement and documentation of results
• Support development of commissioning estimates, budgets, forecasts, schedules, commissioning proposals and presentations
• Coordinate with construction planning team to align commissioning systems are coordinated with construction work packages, engineering and procurement
• Review P&IDs, Flow Diagrams, Single Line Diagram, Network Architecture Drawings and engineering registers to prepare an execution plan and estimate to execute pre-commissioning and commissioning services and identify opportunities for project acceleration
• Establish the commissioning requirements for pre-fabrication and modularization

You Bring To The Role

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Experience using Visio or similar tools to communicate commissioning sequence, organizational charts and workflow processes is an asset
• Previous co-op experience in project execution, commissioning, or construction on industrial project is considered an asset
• Willingness to travel to various Hatch offices, project and supplier sites subject to project requirements
• Aspirations of becoming a commissioning manager, project manager or group lead are considered an asset
