Job summary

Sulzer is seeking a Jr. Machine Operator to assist in operating manufacturing machinery under supervision. The role supports production and learns to operate CNC equipment such as lathe, drill, and milling centers, following instructions and safety procedures.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and at least 3 years of machining experience, plus strong English communication and math skills. Onsite work is essential, with benefits and LEAN/EHS policy involvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years minimum machining experience.
• English communication skills.
• Ability to learn proper use and application of measuring instruments.
• Basic math skills.
• Willing to learn CNC programs at the machine.
• Onsite work is an essential function of the job.

Responsibilities

• Operates and assists in CNC machines (lathe, drill, mill, machining center) under supervision.
• Sets up fixtures, tools, and materials on machines.
• Measures and marks dimensions to guide machining operations.
• Observes machines for malfunctions and adjusts controls as needed.
• Deburrs parts before transfer to the next stage.
• Operates forklift and overhead crane as required.
• Maintains safe practices and adheres to LEAN and EHS policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
