Job summary

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) seeks a software developer to advance enterprise catalog and metadata services powering intelligence discovery for the Air Force and IC.

You will contribute to API docs, OpenAPI specs, and onboarding materials while collaborating in Agile teams across secure cloud enclaves. You’ll work on catalog collection features, integration with NASIC cloud environments, and continuous delivery pipelines, with emphasis on maintainability and cross-domain

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• Foundational programming experience in Python, Java, or similar languages used to build backend services.
• Basic understanding of cloud-native development concepts (containers, microservices, CI/CD).
• Familiarity with REST APIs and JSON-based service communication; ability to read and update OpenAPI/API documentation.
• Ability to work within Agile/Scrum teams and contribute to team-based software development.
• Ability to support maintenance, sustainment, and minor enhancements of operational software.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearances as required for NASIC work.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing catalog features such as metadata tagging and lookup logic.
• Maintain and integrate Catalog Collection capabilities into cloud environments (NUC and CLOUDworks).
• Support onboarding and enablement materials for catalog service users, including API references and training content.
• Test, refactor, and validate catalog services to ensure reliability and interoperability.
• Document architecture diagrams, endpoint descriptions, and environment dependencies as part of deliverables.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate catalog capabilities with ICAM, Foundational Services, and mission applications.
• Provide support for UI updates and bug resolution under guidance of senior developers.
