Job summary

Marks Clearing & Grading Inc. is seeking a motivated Junior Estimator to join our preconstruction and estimating team.

This entry-level role provides hands-on learning from seasoned estimators, project managers, and field leaders in heavy civil construction and site development. You will assist in preparing accurate takeoffs and estimates for site-development projects, review drawings and bid documents, and support with subcontractor pricing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in construction-related field.
• 0–3 years of construction, estimating, project engineering, or field experience.
• Exposure to heavy civil, grading, utilities, roadway or site-development construction is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, analyze and maintain accurate quantities and takeoffs under supervision.
• Assist with preparation of estimates for site-development and heavy civil projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, bid documents and contract requirements.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, storm drainage, erosion control, paving, concrete and other scopes.
• Assist senior estimators with pricing for labor, equipment, materials and subs.
