Job summary

Tucker Paving, Inc. in Winter Haven, FL, is seeking a Junior Estimator to launch a career in civil construction estimating.

You will work with the estimating team to prepare accurate, competitive bids for infrastructure projects and gain real-world experience across the full bid cycle. This hands-on role requires someone with civil site construction experience, a detail-oriented mindset, and a drive to learn and grow.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in the civil construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Attend comprehensive kickoff meetings and pre-bid calls with owners
• Download bid documents, review specs, addendums, and revisions
• Prepare master quotes and input existing/proposed grades into AGTEK
• Conduct site visits and pre-bid meetings
• Perform takeoffs in Planswift and create exhibits for sod & concrete
• Coordinate and follow up with subcontractors and vendors for accurate pricing
• Input pricing and quantities into B2W and ensure scope coverage
• Adjust indirect costs, overhead, and profit margins
• Prepare complete proposals, calculations, and supporting documentation
• Attend bid reviews, process adjustments, and negotiate changes as needed
• Support senior estimators with change orders, project handoffs, and post-job reviews
• Deliver bids, attend openings, and record results
• Additional responsibilities: May include other related tasks as assigned to meet organizational needs.
