Job summary

Sambatek is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer for our Land Development team in Minnesota. This role is ideal for recent graduates eager to grow technical skills and contribute to high-quality civil site design projects, from concept through construction.

You'll support site design, plan production, and coordination across project teams, working with Project Managers, senior engineers, surveyors, and designers to develop practical, constructible solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited program
• 0-2 years of experience including internships
• Exposure to Civil 3D; grading and site design is a plus
• Interest in commercial land development and site design
• Basic understanding of grading, utilities, stormwater management, and erosion control concepts
• Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
• Eagerness to learn and grow in a team-based environment

Responsibilities

• Assist with civil site design using Civil 3D, including grading, earthwork modeling, utilities, and stormwater systems
• Support the preparation of construction documents such as grading plans, erosion and sediment control plans, utility plans, and details
• Perform basic calculations related to stormwater management, utilities, and site layout under guidance of senior engineers
• Collaborate with Project Managers, engineers, surveyors, and CAD staff to produce coordinated plan sets
• Review and utilize survey data, geotechnical reports, zoning requirements, and due-diligence materials
• Support permitting efforts and agency coordination with municipalities and other regulatory entities
• Assist with construction-phase services, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals
• Learn and apply company standards, quality control procedures, and best practices
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment that values communication, learning, and accountability
