Job summary

Crawford, Murphy & Tilly is seeking a Civil Engineer I to join the Surface Transportation team in Davenport, IA. This is a full-time, non-remote position with salary range $72,500 to $75,500 annually.

As an early career professional, you will acquire fundamental engineering knowledge, work under a PE, and develop basic technical skills through assigned projects. EIT licensure is preferred and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering.
• 0-3 years of experience in Engineering.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) licensure is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles used for technical plans and design models.
• Basic knowledge of cost estimating and quantity takeoffs.
• Knowledge of civil engineering codes and practices.
• Exposure to AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acquire basic industry knowledge under a Professional Engineer (PE).
• Engineer-in-Training licensure is preferred.
• Complete assigned tasks of limited complexity including design, analysis, and technical writing.
• Manage personal tasks within deadlines and project scope.
• Utilize technical software to support planning and design of infrastructure projects.
• May perform construction observation and site inspections to ensure conformance to design specs.
• Submit work for review and approval in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, or other regulations as directed by managers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
