Job summary

The AEP Service Corporation is seeking an Associate CEMS Engineer to support Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems across our gas and coal fleet. You will work with instrumentation, controls, analyzers, sample systems, DAHS platforms, alarming, and field troubleshooting while helping improve system reliability, data integrity, and fleet standardization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from ABET-accredited program; PE encouraged.
• Engineering Technology degree acceptable with PE license.
• Experience with instrumentation, environmental monitoring, or power plant systems.
• Willingness to travel to generating stations.
• Fundamental knowledge of process instrumentation and CEMS equipment.
• Excel required; SQL or similar a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of CEMS gas analyzers and related systems.
• Provide remote and on-site support for configuration, troubleshooting, and calibration coordination of CEMS instrumentation and DAHS systems.
• Support DAHS operations, data validation, QA reviews, and alarming.
• Participate in RATA support, cylinder gas audits, and QA/QC activities.
• Review CEMS data for accuracy and resolve data gaps before handing off to Environmental Services.
• Collaborate with I&C project teams to evaluate and implement CEMS/DAHS requirements.
• Support Environmental Services and plant operations on CEMS/DAHS system functions.
• Interpret and follow regulations, codes, and standards related to CEMS/DAHS with guidance.
• Document work and contribute to procedures and fleet standardization.
• Travel to generating stations for field support.
