Job summary

KIMCHUK INC is a fast paced electronics contract manufacturer based in Danbury, CT, seeking a Junior Buyer. This entry level role supports procurement, coordinates with internal stakeholders, and helps expedite material quotes as directed by management.

The candidate will work with purchasing, program management, stockroom, and vendors to keep production flowing on schedule. The role emphasizes learning and growth in procurement processes, with exposure to ERP systems and vendor management.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate required, some higher-level education is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of electronic components or a willingness to learn.
• Minimum two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment involving material control and expediting.
• Experienced with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Power point, etc.).
• Experience working with an ERP system, experience with Microsoft Dynamics is preferred.
• Professional verbal and written communication style, internally and externally.
• Natural problem solver with a high degree of intellectual curiosity.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and reports on the status of both proposed and staged jobs to ensure functions of picking and releasing jobs to the manufacturing floor.
• Communicates with department supervisors to determine overdue material and parts and to inform supervisors of material status.
• Provides weekly and monthly reports such as vendor on time delivery and quality.
• Directs receiving to prioritize inbound material.
• Supplies list and reports of jobs to be released to stockroom department.
• Maintains/updates vendors expected ship dates in the ERP system and communicates changes to Program Management in a timely manner.
• Works with facilities and manufacturing to procure shop supplies and small tools.
• Willing and able to assist on special projects as needed.
