The role collaborates with engineering, production and quality teams to ensure timely material availability and accurate supplier records, under the Senior Buyer Manager. The ideal candidate has an entry-level to 3-year purchasing background, comfortable with ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Office, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of purchasing, procurement, inventory control, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems; Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Generate and manage purchase orders for direct and indirect materials, components, equipment, and services in accordance with company procurement policies and ERP system requirements.
• Monitor open purchase orders, track supplier deliveries, and follow up on late shipments to help ensure continuity of supply.
• Assist the Senior Buyer Manager in sourcing materials and obtaining supplier quotations for new and existing components.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding order acknowledgments, delivery schedules, pricing updates, and routine procurement inquiries.
• Coordinate with Production Planning to support material requirements and communicate potential supply issues that may impact manufacturing schedules.
• Support Engineering by obtaining supplier information, documentation, and quotations for new and existing products.
• Coordinate domestic and international shipments with transportation providers and logistics partners to support manufacturing operations, field service requirements, customer installations, and product deliveries.
• Prepare and review shipping documentation, including packing lists, commercial invoices, certificates of origin, export documentation, and other import/export documentation as required.
• Assist with maintaining supplier records, pricing, lead times, and purchasing data within the ERP system.
• Support Supplier Quality activities by coordinating supplier documentation, assisting with Approved Supplier List (ASL) maintenance, and communicating supplier quality concerns.
• Coordinate supplier returns (RMAs) and replacement material for nonconforming products in collaboration with Receiving Inspection, Quality, Engineering, and suppliers.
• Assist with inventory cycle counts, inventory reconciliations, and material transactions to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Maintain procurement records, supplier documentation, and purchasing files to support audits and regulatory compliance.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and purchasing efficiencies and communicate recommendations to the Senior Buyer Manager.
• Perform other purchasing, logistics, and supply chain duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Junior Buyer supports the procurement of materials, components, equipment, and services required for manufacturing and business operations.
