Job summary

AVI-SPL, Inc. is seeking an Installation Technician 1 to perform installation tasks on contracted projects, including cabling, equipment setup, rack systems, and fabrication per project directives.

You will coordinate with the Lead Technician to meet time, scope, budget, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction goals. Responsibilities include following blueprints, using hand and power tools, and supporting on-site security and equipment management.

Qualifications

• Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, colleagues, and vendors.
• Customer service oriented with a focus on client satisfaction.
• Basic understanding of audio-visual systems including projectors, screens, speakers, microphones, video conferencing, and control systems.
• Basic proficiency in installing, terminating, and troubleshooting low-voltage cabling (HDMI, CAT5e/6, fiber).
• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues with AV equipment and systems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Basic network infrastructure knowledge and how it integrates with AV systems.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Valid Driver's License and a driving record meeting AVI-SPL standards.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation tasks as noted in the job summary and in support of Lead Technician.
• Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints.
• Use hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors and install AV systems.
• Assist Lead Tech with management and security of equipment and tools on site.
• Assist with basic mechanical fabrication and rack wiring.
• Travel to various job sites as required.
• Perform additional tasks to support the team and adapt to evolving priorities.
