Job summary

SAIC is seeking an entry-level Automation Engineer to join our Ashburn, VA team. The role focuses on developing automated tests, data validation, and REST/JSON/XML data interface testing within an Agile SDLC.

The candidate should have Java development experience, Spring Boot, Selenium WebDriver, and TestNG, with strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration. The position requires four days on-site per week in Ashburn for the first year, with the option to reduce to two days on-site

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field with 2+ years of technical experience.
• Experience with Java/JEE design and enterprise software development.
• Proficient in Spring Boot.
• Selenium WebDriver and TestNG expertise.
• SQL basics and relational databases.
• Ability to write test scripts from data models.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop automation test scripts.
• Generate test data and perform data validation.
• Test JSON/XML message interfaces and data exchanges.
• Write SQL/Unix scripts for test data and automation.
• Execute regression, functional, and system tests.
• Summarize results and report defects.
• Identify defects and document discrepancies.
• Use IDEs like Eclipse/IntelliJ for design, development, testing.
• Collaborate in an Agile environment and document requirements in JIRA.
