NightOwl Consulting seeks a detail-oriented AutoCAD Drafter (Junior Estimator) to produce precise CAD drawings and material takeoffs for bids. You will support design development and pre-construction planning, collaborating with project teams and field staff.

The role emphasizes accurate drafting, knowledge of fabrication standards, and proactive involvement in cost estimation and documentation. Ideal for candidates with strong architectural drafting background.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of AutoCAD experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans.
• Strong mathematical skills for accurate drafting.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D shop drawings with multiple views using AutoCAD.
• Draft using the American measurement system and ensure compatibility with fabrication capabilities.
• Interpret and pull fabrication requirements from specification books to guide kitchen layouts.
• Maintain and improve the AutoCAD block library for consistency across projects.
• Coordinate with project managers regarding field conditions and updates.
• Provide technical support to field installers and shop personnel with clear documentation.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs and basic estimation tasks for bidding and costing.
• Maintain organized digital files and project records (drawings, RFIs, revisions, approvals).
• Support general administrative functions like data entry, reporting, schedule tracking, and cross-team follow-ups.
