Job summary

Sullivan, Ward, Patton, Gleeson & Felty, P.C. is seeking an associate attorney to join our established firm in Michigan. The candidate will work directly with associates and partners on corporate and litigation matters, with exposure to a wide range of civil litigation issues.

In-person collaboration with staff and attorneys is required. The role targets a recent graduate with up to 3 years of experience. Responsibilities include research, drafting, hearings, and client communications, with

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm.
• Exceptional organizational & time-management skills and ability and experience meeting strict deadlines
• Superior written and oral communication skills
• Highest ethical standards and professional integrity
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently as well as work cohesively with staff, paralegals, partners, and management

Responsibilities

• Research and drafting pleadings, written discovery, motions, legal memoranda, and reviewing & drafting agreements.
• Analyzing and forming coherent and logical legal arguments
• Attending various hearings, depositions and legal proceedings both in-person and virtually
• Communicating with clients regarding legal matters and understanding and attending to client’s perspectives and needs.
• Communicating with counsel for opposing parties regarding procedural and substantive legal issues
• Maintaining an extensive and diversified caseload
