Job summary

TalentConnect seeks a Junior Architectural Designer in NYC to support architectural projects from site documentation through design development and construction. You will work with architects, clients, engineers, interior designers, building management, and other stakeholders to develop accurate drawings and coordinate systems.

The ideal candidate has strong drafting and design skills, experience documenting existing conditions, and thrives in a fast-paced architectural environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field required or in progress.
• Previous architectural internship or junior designer experience preferred.
• Experience with field surveys and documenting existing building conditions.
• Knowledge of architectural plans, elevations, demolition drawings, and construction documents.
• Familiarity with zoning and building-code research and documentation.
• Strong communication with clients, consultants, contractors, and building representatives.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site surveys of existing buildings and spaces, taking measurements and documenting conditions.
• Translate measurements into accurate architectural drawings and existing-condition plans.
• Prepare drawing sets including demolition plans, construction plans, floor plans, elevations, and related documents.
• Assist with zoning studies and documentation for project requirements and compliance.
• Develop and coordinate electrical and plumbing diagrams as part of drawing packages.
• Attend site visits during construction to review progress and ensure design intent."
• Document field conditions, progress, and coordination issues.
• Participate in client meetings to define scope and report progress.
• Collaborate with architects and interior designers during schematic design and design development.
• Coordinate with structural, MEP, and other consultants as required.
• Communicate requirements and regulations to building managers and stakeholders.
• Assist in resolving design and coordination issues during development and construction.
• Maintain organized project drawings and documentation.
• Support multiple projects while meeting schedules and deadlines.
