Job summary

Johnson C Smith University Inc. in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Software Application Analyst I to support and administer the university’s enterprise application portfolio.

You will work with Ellucian Colleague SaaS, TouchNet, EAB Navigate, Canvas, and other systems to resolve incidents, automate processes, and develop integrations. The role requires SQL and Python knowledge, 0–2 years of experience, and the ability to collaborate with campus stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, MIS, software engineering, data analytics, or a related field.
• 0-2 years of related experience supporting enterprise applications, integration, databases, reporting, automation, or software QA.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of SQL and Python, including reading, writing, testing, troubleshooting, and documenting code.
• Knowledge of relational databases and data concepts (PostgreSQL, Microsoft Access, data mapping, validation, data exchange).
• Knowledge of API concepts and integration methods (REST, JSON, authentication, error handling, secure data transmission).
• Knowledge of HTML and web-app concepts; familiarity with Java or other programming languages beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day functionality and technical administration for assigned enterprise applications across production, test, development, and training environments.
• Manage incidents, service requests, vendor cases, upgrades, and license/renewal notices.
• Monitor system availability, interfaces, and scheduled jobs; coordinate timely resolution.
• Configure application settings, roles, permissions, workflows, and security practices.
• Provide responsive support to students, faculty, staff, and campus offices; escalate as needed.
