Job summary

Golden 1 Credit Union in California seeks an Application Developer I to join the IT Core Programming team. This exempt, full-time role reports to the Manager - IT Programming and supports core systems development and integrations.

You will learn programming languages, work with databases and APIs, and contribute to design, testing, and support of applications that drive operational excellence for our members.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in MIS or Computer Science is required.
• 2+ years experience in financial industry in systems analysis is required.

Responsibilities

• Learn the appropriate coding language(s) to support our core systems using training resources.
• Complete training assignments to develop/improve coding skills.
• Review, design, program and implement solutions for our core systems using third and fourth generation languages.
• Work with technical staff and business partners on APIs, services and database structures.
• Perform object-oriented and structured programming as needed.
• Support senior staff in designing and documenting integrations with third‑party systems.
• Analyze user requirements and prepare technical design specifications.
• Evaluate data related to application development to improve performance.
• Prepare test scenarios and validate results with Enterprise QA.
• Shadow senior developers when troubleshooting core system issues and document fixes.
• Maintain compliance with state and federal laws applicable to credit unions.

Education
