Job summary

Protective Life's Voyager team is seeking a Junior or Senior AI Developer to build AI-powered features on Azure Databricks and Azure OpenAI, integrating LLMs and ML into Voyager's products for Life, Annuities, and Employee Benefits.

You will work with product managers, designers, and data engineers to deploy models, ensure secure handling of customer data, and ship features through Azure DevOps CI/CD.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of software development experience, including hands-on AI/GenAI work.

Responsibilities

• Build AI-powered features on Azure Databricks and Azure.
• Implement GenAI capabilities — RAG, embeddings, vector search, and prompt design.
• Develop and consume APIs exposing model capabilities to product surfaces with attention to latency and cost.
• Apply evaluation, guardrails, and privacy for sensitive data in prompts and context.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to refine AI features through discovery.
