Job summary

AbbVie Inc. is seeking an entry-level AI Engineer to support the design, build, and deployment of AI-enabled software solutions, including LLM-powered apps and RAG pipelines.

The role emphasizes learning, collaboration, and delivering reliable technical outputs under supervision. You will work with Python, SQL, and REST APIs, contribute to model-serving and containerized deployments, and assist with data processing, testing, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field as listed.
• Strong communication and ability to explain results to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with Python, SQL, and web APIs is preferred.
• Familiarity with version control, testing, and code quality practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist design, build, and deploy AI-enabled software solutions including LLM-powered apps.
• Support development of AI features and fix straightforward defects under supervision.
• Build components of LLM-based pipelines and integration workflows.
• Transform and analyze data with Python/SQL; create basic ETL and visualizations.
• Execute unit tests and basic model evaluations; reproduce issues.
• Serve models and AI services via REST APIs and containerized environments.
• Track experiments, model versions, and contribute to CI/CD processes.
• Document methods, results, and escalation steps in tickets.
• Learn codebase and workflows through pairing and code reviews.
• Communicate progress and risks to project leads.
