Job summary

IBM is seeking a motivated software developer to join the AI on Z team. You will build enterprise AI solutions on the Z platform, working with Telum accelerators and Spyre AI to support deep learning, scientific computing and financial workloads.

You will collaborate with research teams, integrate PyTorch and TensorFlow, and contribute to a robust toolchain across Linux on Z, LinuxOne, and IBM Z environments. Strong programming skills and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science/Data Analytics, or related fields (or equivalent experience).
• Basic knowledge of operating systems and how they work; container technologies; internet services; and/or managed services.
• Strong C, C++, Java, Golang and/or Python programming skills.
• Experience with industry standard C++ compilers and development frameworks.
• Experience with machine-code generation or compiler back-end users.
• Strong software engineering development discipline; proficiency in data structures and algorithms.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
• Ability to meet objectives under tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
• Experience working on an active toolchain codebase and contributing to it.
• Experience with CI/CD, Jenkins; Linux knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop enterprise AI apps using PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Collaborate with IBM Research to advance Telum and Spyre AI accelerators.
• Integrate components for robust code and shared libraries on IBM Z/Linux platforms.
• Provide engineering support and deliver changes for production releases.
• Build strong customer/partner relations through execution and quality software.
• Contribute to open-source projects to advance IBM AI efforts.
