Job summary

IBM Systems seeks a QA/Test Development Engineer to design, test, and support cutting-edge hardware and AI workloads. You’ll work on IBM zSystems, Power, Storage, and Quantum systems, applying rigorous testing and automation across firmware and software.

You will collaborate with global teams to drive reliability and performance. Strong coding and test-automation experience, plus Agile practices and customer-focused communication, are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma required.
• Experience with QA methodologies and test automation.
• Exposure to firmware and hardware testing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install and test hardware systems hands-on.
• Validate and characterize processors and systems.
• Support customers and field engineers with technical solutions.
• Design and test firmware architectures.
• Analyze failures and improve system reliability.
• Automate test suites and simulate customer environments.
• Develop and document test plans and procedures.
• Collaborate with global development teams.
• Install, configure, and validate AI LLMs.
