Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related financial role.
  • Working knowledge of accounts payable processes, including invoicing and vendor management.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets with financial data.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks and Ramp or similar systems.
  • Ability to read and analyze P&L and Balance Sheet statements.
  • Ability to learn CRM systems such as Salesforce.
  • Strong numerical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, time management and high integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner with proper coding.
  • Review invoices and expense reports for documentation and approvals.
  • Prepare and process payments (check runs, ACH, wire transfers).
  • Maintain vendor files, including W-9 forms and contracts.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries about payment status and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with annual 1099 preparation.
  • Assist with monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Support month-end and year-end close with journal entries.
  • Help maintain the general ledger and accuracy of data.
  • Track expenditures against program and grant budgets and flag variances.
  • Assist with annual audits and 990 filing; gather required documents.
  • Coordinate with Development for grant review and reporting.
  • Prepare financial reports for leadership, funders, and the board.
