Job summary

TekSynap is seeking a Junior Accountant I – Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end close. The role reports to the controller and requires accuracy, compliance with policies, and strong MS Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Approximately 1 to 3 years of accounting/finance experience.
• High proficiency in MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support accounts payable activities, including processing of vendor invoices, account reconciliations and ad hoc analysis as needed.
• Support reviewing employee expense reports and backup documentation for accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Support accounts receivable activities, including preparing customer invoices and account reconciliations.
• Support time administration and payroll activities as needed.
• Support general ledger accounting activities, including reconciliations and ad hoc analysis.
• Support bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Support month end close processes as needed.
• Assist with financial reporting and audits.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, government regulations and accounting principles.
