BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina is seeking an entry-level accountant to maintain the general ledger, analyze balances, and prepare managerial reports. The role supports journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.

The position is full-time at our Columbia, SC location, with standard 40-hour weeks and regular business hours. Candidates should have a bachelor’s in accounting and strong MS Excel skills to manage routine accounting tasks and internal

Competenze

• Bachelor's in accounting or related field with 24 semester hours in accounting (21 hours if hired prior to Aug 1, 2008).
• Knowledge of fundamental accounting concepts, practices and procedures.
• Good communication, organizational, customer service, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.

Mansioni

• Reconciles assigned accounts and processes general ledger entries.
• Prepares spreadsheets and ensures entries are entered into the accounting system; assists with daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual filings.
• Prepares financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reports to ensure ledger accuracy.
• Maintains accurate general ledger accounts with monthly, weekly, and daily reconciliations.
• Assists with special projects and coordinates between areas as needed.
