BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina is seeking an Accountant I (Banking) for an on-site role in Columbia. You will perform journal entries, reconcile accounts, and support general ledger processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Requirements include a bachelor's in accounting with 24 semester hours, strong MS Office skills, and the ability to work independently while handling confidential information. Hours are 8:00 am–4:30 pm, with benefits including health insurance and a 401k plan.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with 24 semester hours in accounting.
• Strong knowledge of fundamental accounting concepts, practices and procedures.
• Good communication, organizational, customer service, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.
• Strong MS Excel skills with ability to write queries using database software.

Mansioni

• Reconciles assigned accounts and processes general ledger entries.
• Prepares reports for financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
• Maintains accurate general ledger accounts and performs monthly, weekly and daily reconciliations.
• Assists with monthly, quarterly and annual filings as required by regulatory agencies and internal requirements.
• Supports coordination between areas and helps develop/implement procedures and controls.
