The Staff Accountant will support general accounting activities, account reconciliations, month-end close, payroll-related accounting, tax filings, and audit requests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required
• Internship, coursework, or up to two years of accounting experience preferred
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and general ledger activity
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through
• Ability to manage confidential information with integrity
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including preparation of supporting schedules and documentation.
• Prepare routine journal entries and assist with maintaining accruals and other general ledger activity.
• Prepare and maintain account reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts.
• Assist with payroll-related general ledger reconciliations and follow-up on reconciling items.
• Support preparation and filing of business licenses, personal property tax returns, and related compliance items.
• Provide documentation and support for internal and external audit requests.
• Research and resolve basic accounting questions with guidance from the Accounting Manager or senior accounting staff.
• Maintain accurate records and follow established accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Provide ad hoc support to the accounting team as needed.
• All other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
