Palmetto GBA, a subsidiary of BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, is seeking an entry-level accountant for a full-time, 40-hour workweek in Columbia, SC. The role focuses on maintaining a complete and accurate general ledger and supporting managerial reports and financial statements.

Responsibilities include reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, and assisting with daily activity and month-end close.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in a job-related field with 24 semester hours in Accounting.
• Knowledge of fundamental accounting concepts, practices and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Reconciles assigned accounts and processes general ledger entries.
• Prepares reports for financial analysis, forecasting and budgeting.
• Maintains accurate general ledger accounts with timely reconciliations.
• Assists with special projects and month-end close activities.
