Job summary

Northbound Executive Search in New York is seeking a Junior Accountant to join their growing accounting team. This onsite role is four days per week, offering hands-on experience in core accounting functions and close collaboration with senior leadership.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of accounting experience, a Bachelor's or Master's in accounting, and proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft 365. Compensation ranges from $70,000 to $90,000 base plus bonus.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Bachelor's and/or master's degree in accounting.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and inventory management is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications (Excel/Word).
• Strong written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule outgoing payments to ensure they are processed accurately and on time.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, including bank and credit card reconciliations, inventory tracking, purchase orders, and customer sales.
• Provide weekly AR/AP reporting to senior leadership.
• Perform monthly inventory reviews, account reconciliations, and journal entries, supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes.
• Collaborate with Logistics and Sales teams to ensure transactions are recorded correctly.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, especially in inventory management.
• Prepare ad hoc financial and operational analyses to support decision-making, including evaluating inventory turnover and working capital utilization.
