Job summary

Cecil Park Records is a boutique label in Culver City seeking a part-time Junior A&R to help discover and initiate relationships with unsigned artists.

You will review daily lists, evaluate label fit, and reach out to artists and their managers, logging all activity. No industry experience required; we will teach the system. The role is 15–20 hours per week, with pay around $17/hour.

Qualifications

• You listen to a lot of music and have defendable opinions.
• You can handle rejection and persist with follow-up emails.
• You write clearly and quickly.
• You are organized enough to keep the pipeline intact.
• You are comfortable with spreadsheets and databases.
• Available in Culver City on a set weekly schedule.

Responsibilities

• Find artists from daily lists and identify those worth a second look.
• Check each artist by status, release cadence, distribution, playlist activity, social signal.
• Write and send outreach to artists and managers and follow up.
• Book calls for senior A&R.
• Log every artist and touch in our system the same day.
• Bring in artists found off-list by listening.

Cecil Park Records is a boutique record label in Culver City. We keep a small roster and stay close to every artist on it, from the first conversation through the release. Our A&R runs on our own listening and our own research, not on what is already loud.

We're hiring a part-time Junior A&R to work the front of that process.

THE ROLE

You find artists and you reach out to them. Every day you work through a list of unsigned artists our research turns up, listen to them, check each one by hand, and make contact. The artists you find get passed up for deal sizing and offers. Some of them get signed.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Work through the daily lists and pull the artists worth a second look
• Check each one by hand: label status, release cadence, distribution, playlist activity, social signal
• Write and send outreach to artists and their managers, then follow up until you get an answer
• Book calls for senior A&R
• Log every artist and every touch in our system, same day
• Bring us artists you found yourself, off-list, because you were listening

HOW THE JOB IS MEASURED

The work is steady and we keep track of it. You'll have a weekly outreach target and a short Monday summary of what moved. We set the target with you in week one and raise it as you get faster.

• You are organized enough that nothing falls out of the pipeline
• Comfortable in spreadsheets and databases
• Available in Culver City on a set weekly schedule

No industry experience required. We'll teach you the system. We can't teach you the hunger or the taste.
