Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals (BIIA) seeks a Judicial Appeals Analyst to assist Industrial Appeals Judges by identifying facts in orders, letters, and records to establish BIIA jurisdiction. You will receive appeals, assign docket numbers, and enter party data into a database.

As part of the New Appeals unit, you will analyze records in ORION, draft and proof Orders, and write memoranda on significant decisions. Remote work is an option for this position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with four years of legal environment experience.
• One year as Legal Assistant 2 in WA State Government.
• Two-year degree in Legal Secretary Studies, Paralegal Studies, or related field plus two years legal office experience.
• Bachelor’s degree and two years legal office experience.

Responsabilités

• Receiving and analyzing incoming appeals, assigning docket numbers and entering information.
• Creating jurisdictional history by retrieving information from ORION and determining necessary copies.
• Reviewing L&I records to determine grant/deny and timeliness issues.
• Drafting and proofreading Orders and related documents for jurisdiction and relief on the record.
• Writing memoranda on agency decisions and court law.
• Entering information into the case management system.
