Job summary

QUALITY CONSULTING GROUP, LLC is seeking a motivated professional to support a world-class manufacturing environment in Puerto Rico & USA. You will perform a range of seasonal tasks in field research, sample handling, and processing, under supervision to ensure successful harvest and seed packaging.

The role requires education in agronomy (Bachelor's or Associate with 1+ year experience), leadership capabilities, and flexibility for 1st/2nd shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agronomy or related fields required or Associate's degree with 1+ year of experience in a similar role.
• Ability to interpret field observations and relate to qualitative/quantitative metrics.
• Leadership and organizational skills are required.
• Contingent worker will be responsible for expediting the needed driver license when asked (employment requirement).
• Availability for 1st & 2nd shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine tasks in the Phytogen Seed Company research program.
• Assist with Field and Processing Worker related tasks as described.
• Under supervision, assist with repair and maintenance of field equipment and operation of some field equipment.
• Handle samples during harvest/processing and assist with seed packaging and shipping preparation.
• Work in indoor and/or outdoor settings as needed.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of routine tasks associated with the Phytogen Seed Company research program.
• The tasks will include any or all of those described for the Field and Processing Worker.
• In addition, the Technician's Assistant will perform additional tasks as required by the supervising Field Technician.
• These tasks may include, under close supervision of the Field Supervisor: assisting with the repair and maintenance of field equipment, limited operation of field equipment, organization of samples during harvest and/or processing, and limited driving of a company vehicle.
• The type of task will be dependent on the stage of the annual research program and will be seasonal in nature.
• Tasks may be performed in an indoor and/or outdoor setting.
• Responsible for performing a wide range of tasks or a specific task depending on the stage of the seasonal research program.
• Tasks may include: Field research operations related to planting, thinning, weeding, pollinations and sample harvest.
• Sample processing operations including preparation of supplies, sorting, ginning, weighing, preparation for shipping and seed packaging.
• General facility operations including general clean-up, organization of samples and supplies, and other routine tasks as they arise.
• Perform additional tasks as requested by the supervising Field Technician.
• Operation of mobile field equipment, such as a tractor or cotton picker, and stationary field equipment, such as a module builder.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy or related fields with no experience required OR Associate's Degree in Agronomy or related fields and 1+ year of experience in a similar role.
• Interpret field observations (agronomic scouting)
• Standardize qualitative data (e.g., scales, categories)
• Relate observations to quantitative metrics (e.g., IPM applications)
• Leadership and Organizational Skills
• The contingent worker will be responsible of the process to expedite the needed driver license when asked. (This is a requirement for employment)
• 1st & 2nd shift.
• Availability to work all shifts, weekends and Holidays.
