Job summary

Quality Consulting Group, LLC seeks a seasonal Field Technician/Assistant to support Phytogen Seed Company research projects in the USA and Puerto Rico. Responsibilities include field operations from planting to harvest, sample processing, and equipment handling.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Agronomy or related field, strong leadership and organizational skills, and availability for all shifts including weekends and holidays. Driver license coordination may be required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of routine tasks associated with the Phytogen Seed Company research program.
• The tasks will include any or all of those described for the Field and Processing Worker.
• In addition, the Technician's Assistant will perform additional tasks as required by the supervising Field Technician.
• These tasks may include, under close supervision of the Field Supervisor: assisting with the repair and maintenance of field equipment, limited operation of field equipment, organization of samples during harvest and/or processing, and limited driving of a company vehicle.
• The type of task will be dependent on the stage of the annual research program and will be seasonal in nature.
• Tasks may be performed in an indoor and/or outdoor setting.
• Responsible for performing a wide range of tasks or a specific task depending on the stage of the seasonal research program.
• Tasks may include: Field research operations related to planting, thinning, weeding, pollinations and sample harvest.
• Sample processing operations including preparation of supplies, sorting, ginning, weighing, preparation for shipping and seed packaging.
• General facility operations including general clean-up, organization of samples and supplies, and other routine tasks as they arise.
• Perform additional tasks as requested by the supervising Field Technician.
• Operation of mobile field equipment, such as a tractor or cotton picker, and stationary field equipment, such as a module builder.
