Job summary

QUALITY CONSULTING GROUP, LLC is seeking a General Operator to support seasonal agricultural operations across planting, harvesting and seed processing. This on-site role involves operating machinery, inspecting crops, and assisting with inventory and packaging.

You will work outdoors, lift up to 50 pounds, and cover all shifts including weekends and holidays. Training provided; join a team with emphasis on safety, quality, and timely delivery of seed products.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required and preferred.
• Experience in construction, maintenance, and landscaping is required.
• Willingness to work outdoors is a must.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Availability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate and drive agricultural machinery as season dictates.
• Inspect and maintain seed crops; support seed inventory management.
• Harvest, seed packaging, and related activities in fall.
• Winter duties include cleaning, packaging seed, and warehousing.
• Receive and process trucks, weighing and unloading crops.
• Label, bag, palletize seed and stage seed for shipment.

Job Description:

• General Operator role has a seasonality effect.
• Performs tasks such as driving and operating agricultural machinery for planting and cultivating. The type of work assigned will vary based on the current season. In spring and summer, you will be assigned to teams supporting a variety of responsibilities.
• Spend time inspecting and maintaining our seed crops or you could support seed inventory management at the plant.
• Fall is a busy season with harvesting and seed packaging in full swing.
• In the winter, you'll be cleaning & packaging seed, supporting maintenance work, warehousing and shipping seed to ensure our customers have the product they need for the coming planting season.
• Receive and process trucks hauling crop from the field for weighing and unloading.
• Complete a wide range of harvest activities: ex.: husk and sort operations
• Operate dryer to dry crop within the prescribed safety, quality, and financial requirements
• Shelling and storage of crop from bins in the dryer facility
• Supply the Conditioning department with a constant supply of seed
• Apply appropriate treatment to seed
• Label, tag, bag and palletize seed
• Enter inventory information into computer
• Stage seed for shipment in warehouse
• Retag in-house seed.
• Re-bag backhaul (returned) seed
• Inspect pro boxes to ensure they are free of debris and clean
• Wash pro boxes as necessary

Qualifications:

• High school diploma
• Experience in construction, maintenance, and landscaping
• Ability and willingness to work outdoors
• Ability to lift 50-pound bags
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Availability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays
