Job summary

Qualifications

• US Army Officer with 10+ years of honorable service, separated within the past 5 years.
• Possess JROTC Instructor by US Army Cadet Command Phase 1 certification.
• Possess National Agency Check and Inquiry Certification.
• Hold NFHS/Arizona Interscholastic Athletic Association Coaching certification.
• Obtain and maintain PXU vehicle certification.
• Possess Arizona Driver's License.
• Possess Arizona State Standard Secondary Teaching Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and implement the JROTC unit curriculum per USACC and district standards.
• Promote cadet leadership, character education, and physical growth with instructors.
• Plan, deliver, and supervise co-curricular Service Learning and events.
• Oversee property management and budget controls; manage JUMS reporting.
• Deliver instruction per Cadet Command Curriculum Manager guidelines.
• Maintain a safe, positive learning environment and professional appearance.
• Communicate with district officials, colleagues, and parents; supervise site instructors.

• Position Type: JROTC/ JROTC INSTRUCTOR/ SENIOR

Responsible for leading, managing, and implementing the overall JROTC unit program curriculum according to US Army Cadet Command (USACC), national, state, and district regulations, policies and standards. Leads other assigned Army Instructors (Al} in promoting cadet leadership, intellectual development, character education, and physical growth. Performs as the department Instructional Leader (IL}. Responsible for managing and implementing and delivering the military service's national education curriculum and program requirements to include the preparation, planning, coordination, delivery and supervision of all co-curricular Service Learning, special activities or events in support of the USACC JROTC Unit Report (Military Ball, Drill Meets, Honor/Color Guards, JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl, Adventure Team and other co-curricular activities). Responsible and supervises property management and budget controls for the unit and administers the automated cadet record system (JUMS) and reporting for both military and district information.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Manages, presents, and oversees instruction delivery in accordance with lesson plans contained in Cadet Command Instructors Manual/Curriculum Manager V3.
• Maintains a presence in classroom and outside training areas, promotes a positive and safe learning environment.
• Sets the example regarding personal appearance, including the wearing of the prescribed uniform and maintains compliance with US Army Cadet Command Height/Weight allowances.
• Serves as Primary Hand Receipt Holder for all site US Government and District Property on site.
• Responsible for the timely submission of all required US Army Cadet Command and PXU reports, forms and documentation.
• Communicates regularly with district and school officials, colleagues, and parents.
• Demonstrates professional knowledge, engages inPXUProfessional Development activities, and connects academic knowledge to real-life situations.
• Performs and supervises other duties as stated in PXU board policies and/or state statutes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• US Army Officer (W-1 through W-5 or 03 through 06) who has separated/retired within the past 5 years with a minimum of 10-year cumulative honorable service .
• Possess JROTC Instructor by US Army Cadet Command (Phase 1) certification.
• Possess Child Care National Agency Check and Inquiry Certification maintained with the US Army Cadet Command.
• Possess National Federation of State High School Associations/Arizona Interscholastic Athletic Association Coaching certification.
• Obtain and maintain PXU vehicle certification.
• Possess a valid Arizona State Driver's License.
• Possess a Current Arizona Standard Secondary Teaching Certificate.
