Job summary

Crowley ISD seeks a Jr. Cadet Corp Teacher to implement the Army JROTC program in alignment with national, state, and district standards.

The role focuses on mentoring cadets, promoting leadership, and coordinating military-related activities within the high school environment. The instructor will oversee 180 hours of military-directed instruction, supervise drill and color guard teams, and liaise with faculty to sustain cadet involvement and community programs.

Qualifications

• Retired Army NCO with 20+ years of military service.
• Meet current height and weight standards as outlined in Cadet Command Regulation 145-2.
• Possess Army Federal JROTC instructor certification.
• Military Education levels ANCOC/1SG/SGM Academy desired.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and automation technology skills.
• Completion of secondary education teaching certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate student progress through formal and informal evaluations.
• Coordinate and consolidate lesson plans with other content areas for transfer of learning.
• Develop thematic units and projects; instruct 180 hours of military directed material.
• Administer, advise, and appraise extracurricular teams (drill, rifle, PT, academic challenge, color guard).
• Determine cadets for leadership positions and supervise cadet leaders.
• Supervise special activities/events such as military ball and drill meets.
• Maintain communication with faculty to promote cadet involvement and recruitment.
• Compile data for the automated cadet database and submit reports to Army and district.
• Counsel, mentor, and tutor cadets as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
