Job summary

Fort Worth ISD seeks a JCC Instructor to lead the Junior Cadet Corps program for lower secondary cadets, aligning with district standards to advance cadet academics, leadership, and character formation. The role provides instructional leadership, mentors instructors, and ensures engagement across academics, citizenship, and physical growth.

The position reports to the Director II - JROTC and involves coordinating events, budgeting, and collaboration with school staff to promote cadet involvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Master's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Completed Military Education for Grade.
• Valid Texas Teacher Certificate appropriate for grade level/subject area.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• Insurable by the District's insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

• Teaches, assesses, evaluates, and documents student progress using formal and informal methods.
• Implements and coordinates the CHiSL program with lesson plans, curriculum, and activities.
• Develops thematic units and projects to encourage extended interaction and creativity.
• Manages program property and oversees budget controls.
• Communicates effectively with students and parents and encourages parental involvement.
• Submits required JROTC department reports on time.
• Administers and evaluates extracurricular teams such as drill, rifle, PT, academic challenge, and robotics.
• Oversees cadet leadership roles and plans special events including military ball, drill meets, and Final Review.
