Job summary

Billings Public Schools seeks an Aerospace Science Instructor (Air Force JROTC) to lead the high school AFJROTC unit at Skyview High School. You will mentor cadets, teach leadership and drill, and supervise day-to-day operations under the SASI.

You must have 20+ years in USAF/Space Force/AF Reserve/ANG, a valid AFJROTC certification, and a state teaching credential or the ability to obtain one. The role includes a full benefits package and 192 work days.

Qualifications

• Must have retired NCO/Senior NCO with 20+ years active USAF/Space Force/AF Reserve/ANG service.
• Official AFJROTC ASI certification from Holm Center prior to employment.
• State JROTC teaching credential/license per district guidelines.
• Must clear FBI fingerprinting and local background checks.
• Must be physically capable of leading outdoor fitness activities and marching in drill.

Responsibilities

• Teach AFJROTC Leadership Education courses, including drill, customs and courtesies, flag etiquette, financial management, communication, and citizenship.
• Instruct the AFJROTC Health and Wellness/Physical Fitness Program.
• Assist SASI in delivering Aerospace Science modules and cadet leadership content.
• Evaluate cadet performance in leadership traits, uniform standards, and drill accuracy.
• Manage cadet operations, logistics, and administrative tracking in WINGS.
